Sustainability

As a lover of the great outdoors and our beautiful planet it’s only right that as a small business owner I take responsibility and make Cornish Bluebelle as eco friendly and sustainable as possible.

I am dedicated to protecting our planet so all decisions, both small and large are considered with sustainability at heart.

I am continually looking at new ways to ensure I am always doing my best for the environment.

Designed & made to last

I believe in creating timeless meaningful pieces that will truly be your treasured keepsakes for years to come rather than fast fashion pieces that often get discarded after only a short while. I only use the best quality materials so your jewellery will last a life time too.

Having a piece of unique personalised jewellery will hold great sentimental value forever – a modern day heirloom.

All off cuts of silver are re-used. I melt down the off cuts to use in new items of jewellery. Sometimes I will send a large quantity of scrap silver off to be melted down and turned into a sheet of metal. Whenever I need to make and item of jewellery to show case a new item – I will always offer this item at a reduce price (sometimes even free of charge) to ensure it goes to a loving home where it’ll be treasured.

Materials

All of my sea glass is hand picked by me on my local beaches. Whilst out sea glass hunting I always collect all plastic I spot too and take home with me to recycle. I never make a special trip to go sea glass hunting as I see this as unnecessary travel and ultimately this would have a negative impact on the environment, instead I tie in my sea glass hunting when I’m at the beach anyway – either a day out with my children or walking a friends dog along the beach.

Where possible all of my items are made from recycled sterling silver. I only use UK companies to buy in my sheets of metal to create your items.

Packaging

I use completely plastic free packaging. My giftboxes are made from FSC certified cardboard and they are also made using a water based glue. You’ll find the FSC logo on all of my giftboxes- this guarantees the materials have come from an FSC forest which means no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce. On the odd occasion I need to use tape for my postal boxes- this is also plastic free.
